Non-operative approaches for uncomplicated acute appendicitis and diverticulitis

Abstract

This paper focuses on the early stages of acute appendicitis and diverticulitis and reviews the evidence for non-operative intervention.  The case for non-operative antibiotic-free management of appendicitis is examined and areas for future research addressed.
