An introduction to the FEBS(EmSurg) examination

Abstract

This article explores the rationale for developing the European Board of Surgery Qualification in Emergency Surgery as a tool to improve standards and patient outcomes.  An outline of the examination is provided together with an example of its implementation at a national level.
